About Beeswax:

Did you know Beeswax has been used in art and ornamentation for thousands of years?

The pouring of melted wax in to molds is attributed to Germans, over 300 years ago, as they used their Springerle baking molds, which were ornately carved wooden molds, to create beeswax ornaments to gift at Christmas time.

I use primarily vintage and antique stoneware molds and melt and hand pour every single piece with love.

I package nicely and ship quickly, as well.

Beeswax art, ornaments and sun catchers make a truly unique and special gift for all ages and genders! Delightful in the nursery, kitchen, bedroom or living space, and many pieces are holiday themed for decorating!

I use only triple filtered 100% pure Beeswax that I source regionally from small family Apiaries.

Beeswax will change in color depending on what flowers or fruit the bees were pollinating, and the scent can vary as well.

Beeswax colors can range from a soft cream color to a deep caramel, all depending on the pollen!

Every piece made has character above and beyond the mold detailing - wrinkles, tiny bubbles, surface cracks and slight imperfections are common, making every piece of beeswax art truly unique.

Caring for your Beeswax:

When not displaying your Low Country Beeswax Art, wrap individual pieces in wax paper to keep dust off and store in a climate controlled area, such as a closet, so please not in your attic!

Beeswax melts at about 145 degrees, but can become pliable if left in hot spaces for a lengthy amount of time.

Beeswax may, over time, develop a white bloom, I think it enhances some pieces, but is easily removed by gently rubbing your beeswax piece with a soft warmed cloth.

Your beeswax looks wonderful hanging in a window as it has translucent qualities, and the warmth emits a bit more of it's subtle scent.

Did you also know Beeswax is hypoallergenic? Even people with scent sensitivities are not bothered by the soft sweet scent of pure beeswax!

My Enhancements:

Walking on the beach here on Edisto Island I find small treasures that I often incorporate in to my wax creations, so you may find shells, or bits of coral or sand as an option, especially in the Sea Life collection.

I am also  loving adding a bit of crushed glass for color, and doing a bit of painting after the mold is poured is another creative outlet I enjoy, but sadly struggle to find the time for.

If you are a person who likes to paint, consider Beeswax Art from the low country as a great pallet, as most of our molds have wonderful detail and are really enhanced with some paint!

Those who are admirers of folk art, treasure vintage things, and appreciate handmade reasonably priced unique art will really be delighted with a piece or two from Low Country Beeswax!
